Bespoke mackintoshes and capes
Every bespoke piece is made to your own measurements, in the style and fabric you choose. Here is what it costs, how it works and how long it takes.

The final price depends on style, fabric and extras. We confirm it in writing before you pay anything.
Our normal making time is about eight weeks, but it depends how busy the workroom is and can run a lot longer. We will give you a realistic date in writing rather than a promise, and tell you straight away if it moves.
Bespoke is fully booked for Christmas 2026. Orders placed now are being taken for Valentine’s Day. If you need a coat in time for Christmas, there are off-the-peg coats in the mackintosh and cape ranges that can still reach you.
The process, step by step
- Fill in the form below with your measurements and the style you like. You can upload a photograph.
- We call you to talk it through, check the measurements and confirm the price in writing.
- We post fabric samples so you can see and feel the cloth. A set is £5.
- You pay a 50% deposit to book your place in the workroom.
- We make your piece by hand, to your measurements.

Choose your fabric
We work in rubberised cotton, polyester, nylon-silk, satin, crepe de chine and surface rubber. See them on our Fabrics & Swatches page and order a sample set for £5.
How to measure
You need a soft tape measure and, ideally, a helper. Measure over light clothing, and keep the tape snug but not tight.

| Chest | Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, tape level. |
| Waist | Around the natural waist, the narrowest point. |
| Hip | Around the fullest part of the hips, feet together. |
| Back length | From the bone at the base of the neck down to where you want the hem to finish. |
| Sleeve | From the shoulder point, over a slightly bent elbow, to the wrist bone. |

Questions
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit of 50% books your order once we have agreed the details. Full terms are on our bespoke order terms page.
Can you alter it after it is made?
Yes, minor fitting adjustments are included. See the bespoke order terms for what is covered.
Do you make for men as well as women?
Yes. Every piece is cut to the measurements you give us.
Do you deliver abroad?
Yes. We post to the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, with postage worked out at checkout. See Post & Packaging.
Can I return a bespoke item?
Made-to-measure items are made specially for you, so they are not covered by the 14-day cancellation right. Faulty items are always covered. See Returns.
How long will it take?
